Threshold
My senior show~
On October 16th, 2025 my senior exhibit was held at Liberty University’s art museum. Every year, Liberty gives its seniors the opportunity to have their own exhibit to showcase their work. Our show, titled “Threshold”, held months of work that was gathered together to present the pieces I've made and the concepts I've learned during my time at Liberty.
I wanted my contribution to the show to have a nostalgic, homey feel that displayed the moments in my life that are important to me. I made a bunch of ceramic sets to showcase my skills with the wheel, as well as three paintings inspired by some pictures from my childhood. But what meant the most to me from my exhibit were the little easter eggs that I hid within my work. I made a jar that says “Homemade Pickles” on it, hinting towards the nickname my dad gave me when I was little- Pickle. My mom gave me my first jar of glaze for Christmas one year, which I used on a few of the pieces I displayed. And of course, all of the paintings I made either featured a favorite memory or picture from when I was younger. The one of the beach was my favorite, as it has my brother and two younger cousins in the frame. There were endless reasons why these specific pieces were important to me, and many I’ve chosen to keep to myself… for now!
This experience was a lot of fun and I was so grateful for everyone that came to the show. It felt like all the hard work I've done throughout my undergraduate years have paid off. The Lord has been so good to me!
